Where are you from?

I come from Sardegna, an island in the south of Italy. This island has a sea that is like paradise. I live in the capital, Cagliari, a perfect city for Bodybuilding; sun, a great beach and a fantastic sea. I never use chemical skin colour, just the sun for skin colour in the competitions!

When did you start training and what got you started training?

I started Bodybuilding when I was very, very young. I started at 13 years old after injuries during a judo competition. After the injuries, my forearms were without mass, so I decided to use weights. At the first moment, I loved Bodybuilding for all my life.

Can you tell me about your Bodybuilding history- including some of the tittles you have won and what organizations do you compete in?

“The natural athlete is natural all his life, and not sometimes natural and sometimes not.”

First of all, I’m known as Mr. Peak for my crazy biceps peak, but I’m also known as a Natural Bodybuilding icon. In all my career, I fight for real Natural Bodybuilding without any sort of chemical help! I never took steroids or any other sort of help in all my life! The natural athlete is natural all his life, and not sometimes natural and sometimes not. A lot of competitors never understand that. For this my fight, I have a lot of fans in all the world. But some federations, magazines, sponsors, judges, and society never like my battle because I talk a lot and I say the real truth!

I competed in a lot of federations natural and not-natural, but I always remained natural and this gives me satisfaction. I competed in the IFBB, WABBA, WNSO, UIBBN, NGA, and in the INBA/PNBA. I’m a Pro in four different federations! I did eight world championships and I am two-time champion of the world. I’m a European champion, Natural Mr. Universe in the Open, Mr. Universe in the Masters, and Mr. Universe in Physique. I’m also Natural Olympia Junior Masters, and I have won a lot of international tournaments. I won a great number of awards for my biceps all over the world. Some people say that I have the most defined peaks of all time. I’m also a kick boxer Pro.

Who or what inspires you?

“…but if people use chemical help, Bodybuilding becomes nothing. I think Bodybuilding now is nearly dead.”

I like the power to change my body with just my work in Bodybuilding. This inspires me, but if people use chemical help, Bodybuilding becomes nothing. I think Bodybuilding now is nearly dead. I know this is so sad, but it is true. I like the old champions. The judging has become a disaster! If you have two people on the stage, one with a lot of steroids who is just big with crazy, abnormal definition, especially in the glutes. The other man is a natural champion with good proportions, the right quantity of mass, symmetry, and a good presentation with charisma. If the judges give the award to the first not human man, you kill Bodybuilding because people never like this type of body. With this attitude, no sponsors, no media, no money! The competitive sport is for all the people, not just for a small number of passionate ones.

Do you have a specific style of training?

Yes, I have a copyrighted system, Mr. Peak’s 1 MS- which stands for one movement system. This is a system for a competitive, real Natural Bodybuilder. It is difficult to explain in an interview, but with this method, you will have a great hormone response without chemical help- great intensity, instinct, in a very, very short workout. It is just one exercise per muscle group in the off-season and two in pre-contest training. I teach you how you can choose the exercises. There will soon be an English E-book about my system; it is now just in Italian. The title is Le 1000 Regole del Fitness.

Can you tell us more about your book?

“Mr. Peak and my book are not just for the Bodybuilding hard-core, but also for normal people.”

Thanks for the question. I wrote a Bodybuilding book with 300 colour pictures. It covers training, food, competition, all about Bodybuilding and my training system- the one movement system. The most important thing is that my editor was not a sport editor, but the most important editor in Italy. I want to say to you that Mr. Peak and my book are not just for a small number of people, the Bodybuilding hard-core, but also for normal people.

What are your goals in Bodybuilding and/or life?

I won a lot of titles, but my goal in life is to do for my work and hobby what I like, Bodybuilding.

What do you do for a living?

I’m a Personal Trainer and the owner of a famous personal trainer gym. It is one of the first one-to-one gyms in history. I’m also a sport journalist, model and actor. I’m a certificated personal trainer in three different top international organizations.

How did you get those unbelievable biceps?

I won a lot of titles for my arms and a lot people say that I have the most defined biceps peak of all time. A part is genetic, but I trained biceps with attention and intensity since I was a child. I train very heavy, with mind in the muscle. In the first part of my career, I used free weights and there are some of my records: standing Ez bar curls 225 pounds for 6 reps, dumbbell alternate curls 100 pounds for 16 reps, and Scott bench curls with Ez bar, 200 pounds for 6 reps. Free weight are the best for almost all the muscles, but not for biceps because there is a gravity problem when you do curls because you don’t have a complete tension in all the range of motion. I discovered that, and I use a machine with a cable and some exercises I created by myself, with a very, very heavy weight.

You seem to draw a big crowd wherever you go- can you tell me about that?

“I’m honoured to have a lot of fans in all the world. I’m a simple human sportsman with a spectacular shape- but not an impossible shape.”

“If they see my body, most like it and they know that is possible.”

Thanks, it is the truth. I’m honoured to have a lot of fans in all the world. I think the reason is for my arms, but especially because I’m not the classic nasty Bodybuilder without proportions, like a circus man. I’m a simple human sportsman with a spectacular shape- but not an impossible shape. People like to see this type of body and will be interested to know how to have this fantastic body- because it’s possible! If the people see an IFBB professional, a lot of them never want to have this body and they know that is impossible without some chemical help. If they see my body, most like it and they know that is possible. So they train, they go to the gym, they buy the magazines, and they see the competitions- this is marketing and the future of Bodybuilding. I think it is not so difficult to understand that!

What do you want the world to know about you?

The most important thing is that I’m a good person, a family man. I know what must be the priorities in life for a man! I also fight all my career for a natural sport.

What would you like to see in the in the future for Natural Bodybuilding?

I think it’s necessary to have a radical change in Bodybuilding. There should be drug testing, not just before the competition, but also a surprise test in the off-season. In all sports there is a doping problem but the difference is that in the Bodybuilding, doping is normal! Even in the natural federations, a lot of times the Pro athletes do not complete clean or in the past they used steroids or similar. This is not good for the sport. The judges have too much power. It is necessary to have a good school for judges with objective judging criteria- not just subjective like it is now. It is necessary to put more importance in the posing routines. My dream is to have Bodybuilding in the Olympic games and to be the first Bodybuilder who wins the Olympic games. I will fight for that. NMI
